Tutorial:
1.    First thing you want to do is open up your cupid line art we will be working on the boy line art first. So open your Paint Shop Pro and then click on FILE and find your line art and open.
2.    Once opened we want to take our “Magic Wand” and click on the inside of the head and arms and body and legs as we will shade our skin tones first. Please see photo

3.    If you do not see the magic wand you will notice a black arrow next to where your magic wand should be simply click on that and then click on magic wand. Now you want your magic wand to have the following settings Mode is Add (shift) Match Mode is RGB Value, Tolerance is set at 10, you want Contiquous checked and Feather set at 2 and Anti-Alias checked see photo 4.    Now take your magic wand and click on the INSIDE of the head, arms, legs, belly button, and main body. You will notice on my example below that I have highlighted some areas you do NOT want to forget. 5.    Now we need to add our skin color there is two ways to get our skin color one is to take your Eye Dropper and simply click on the box that says “SKIN SHADE” on our color palette and you will notice in your Foreground that it changed your foreground to the skin color as seen

6.    Or you can click on the foreground color like above and at the bottom add the code #fad2c4 this will turn your foreground to the proper shade. Now we want to click on our Flood Fill tool which looks like a Bucket and use the settings I have 7.    Settings are Match Mode NONE , sample mode UNCHECKED, and blend mode is NORMAL and Opacity is set to 100
8.    Now go to the TOP of your Paint Shop Pro and you will see Layers click on that next click on NEW RASTER LAYER and a pop up box will appear we want to name this layer SKIN as shown below and then click OK

10.    Now click on your paint brush tool and use the settings I have below I use a LARGE SIZE when I am filling in a color to make sure I get every pixel covered. The settings we are using are Shape is Eclipse or circle, Size is 100, Hardness is 98, Step is 25, Density is 100, Thickness is 100, Rotation is 45, Opacity is 100, Blend Mode is Normal and contignous and wet look paint are UNCHECKED. Now using your paint brush color in the the selected area. Take your time in this step and go over the edges VERY well as you want every pixel covered once you are done with this your cupid should look like this. (hint: You should NOT see the belly button, eye brows or mouth if shaded properly) 11.    Now that we are skin colored filled we want to add our shading! For this you will need the codes for the skin color and skin shading! Now at the top of your Paint Shop Pro click on EFFECTS to 3D EFFECTS to CUTOUT and if you get a pop up box just click OK. Now use the following settings for vertical 0, horizontal is 0, Opacity is 100 and Blur is 14 and FILL INTERIOR COLOR is Checked. Now in the right hand box click on that and put the skin color code of #fad2c4 and then click ok on the left hand box you want to put your shading color which is #d97538 and click OK and your body should look like the one 13.    Now we want to remove our marching ants so to do so go to Tool bar and go to Selections to select none and you will see our marching ants have disappeared. Now we want to move our skin color below our outline so in your layers palette simply click on SKIN and Drag it down to the bottom like 14.    Now click on your first layer or your Line Art Layer and make this active. Now we are going to fill in our wings. Take your magic wand and click on the inside of both wings making sure the marching ants are around the outside of both wings. Once you have them both selected we need to add another layer so go to LAYERS to Add NEW Raster Layer and we will name this one “wings” if you forgot how to add a new raster layer please go back and see step #8. Now that we have a new layer we are ready to start filling our wing with our wing color, so click on your foreground or TOP color on your materials section and put wing color #f9f2e2 and using your paint brush with the same settings as before color in your wings paying special attention to the edges. See example 15.    Now that are wings are colored in it is time again for our shading so go to top of Paint Shop Pro and go to Effects to 3D Effects to CUTOUT again. In left hand box we want to change that color to our wing color which is #f9f2e2 and then our right hand box we want to change that color to #eedcb4 that is our shading color now you can adjust how much shading you want by changing the Blur amount I used 47.00 and click ok and you have now added your shading to your wings and it should look like the one 16.    Now again we want to move this below on our layer palette so first go to SELECTIONS to SELECT NONE to remove our marching ants. Then go to your layers palette and move our wings below our line art and below our skin color so now your wings should be the bottom layer. Now we will move onto our arrow.
17.    Please take your magic wand and click on the middle bow area and the arrow part and also the top of our safety pins this will all be the same color with NO shading needed on this part. So once you have all of that selected and have the marching ants going around it go to LAYERS and click on ADD NEW RASTER LAYER and name this bow1 for our first part of our bow. Then in our foreground we want to change that color to our bow color so put #6c2c2a and using your paint brush color in those spots really good see example 18.    Now since we do not need any shading we can go to SELECTIONS to SELECT NONE and then in our layers palette move this down to the bottom. Now one of the problems you may notice is that in your safety pin you may notice a few pixels are not colored in. And this is an easy fix! Let’s go to Layers and add a new raster layer and let’s call this one “touch ups” and in your layers palette move this one ALL the way to the bottom. Then click on your paint brush tool in the size section change this from 100 to 1 this will make our paint brush size MUCH smaller and more precise and simply color in any pixels that might have been missed to make it look perfect! If in the safety pin area if you need to remove a little bit of the red we will use our eraser tool. First click in our layers palette and click on bow1 to make this layer active and using your eraser tool with these settings: Shape is circle, size lets do 1 to make it precise, hardness is 100, step is 45, Density is 100, rotation is 0, opacity is 100. Now using your eraser tool erase any red paint that you need to get rid of! Now if you accidently remove too much NO problem on the top of Paint Shop Pro go to EDIT to UNDO ERASER BRUSH and this will UNDO all the erasing you did and allow you to start over! Remember in Paint Shop Pro you always have the UNDO feature which is wonderful!

19.    Next we are going to add a new layer go to LAYER and click ADD NEW RASTER LAYER and lets name this bow2 and click OK. Now using your magic wand let’s click on the end of our bow n arrow on the feather section and then also click the straight line part of the arrow that your hand goes on NOT the actual arrow part that part is pink. Once you have both spots selected with our marching ants go to your foreground and let’s change this to our wing color of #f9f2e2 and using our paint brush use the same settings but we need to change the size back to 100 and color in those two areas as shown below

20.    Now up to this point we have used all the same settings and colors that you use on BOTH lineart the girl and the boy. Now lets select our straight line of our arrow with your magic wand and then go add a another layer go to LAYERS and then ADD A RASTER LAYER let’s name this bow3 and we will fill in the rest of the arrow pink, if you are creating the girl cupid you can also select the girl’s hair bow at this time too as they are both the same color. Now let’s change our foreground color to the pink #f1b6bc and using your paint brush color in the rest of the arrow and bow if you are doing the girl cupid girl color in the pink bow pay special attention to getting around the edges really good. When complete go to SELECTIONS to select none to remove our marching ants. Then go to layers palette and move this down one under the line art outline. Now our last part of the boy cupid is his diaper!
21.    Use your magic wand and click on the inside of your diaper remember to also click on inside of the diaper pin as this is part of the diaper also and then go to LAYERS and choose NEW Raster layer and name this diaper. Now go to your foreground color palette and choose WHITE as our color and using your paint brush tool with the same settings color in the diaper really well. Once completed go to SELECTION to SELECT NONE to remove our marching ants and then go to layer palette and move this down one layer under the line art layer. You are now done with the boy cupid and you can save it as a Transparent PNG I will show you how to do that below:

23.    Now if you are working on the girl you will also need to color in her hair you do this the same as above by using your magic wand to select the hair and add a new raster layer then choose your hair color in the color palette and color in!
24.
To save your graphics as a Transparent PNG format please go to the top of Paint Shop Pro and click on File and then  Save as at the bottom of the pop up you will see two lines at the bottom one shows the files name and the second shows the format you will want to change this to PNG format to keep it as a transparent image see image below for example:
