Tutorial: Using the Eraser Tool:
1. We are going to start with opening a blank image! To do this go to your menu at the top of Paint Shop Pro and click on FILE and then NEW and you will get a pop up box.

On the pop up box please use the settings that are shown. In the first box width should be 200 and height is also 200 resolution should be 300 Then under Image Characteristics choose raster background. Color Depth 16 million depth 24 bit. Check transparent. Then click the OK button. This will put a transparent box on your PSP Page.
Now lets take our selection tool in the square shape and we are going to draw a square to fill in and then erase. So click on the selection tool it looks like this
Draw a square with your selection tool then you want to click on the Paint Bucket or Flood Fill tool we used in our Flood Fill tutorial and choose the color of your choice and click on the inside of the square selection you have. Now you should see a blue box. Now to remove the marching ants around it go to your menu at the top of the PSP program and click on SELECTIONS and then SELECTIONS NONE as shown below:
Now all I want you to do is click on your eraser tool it looks like the one below
![]()
And use the settings shown below which are shape is circle, size is 10, hardness is 100, step is 25, density is 100, rotation is 0, opacity is 100
Now just use your eraser to start erasing the blue that is shown. It is as simple as that to use your eraser and you can change how much you erase just by changing the size which is at number 10 right now.
